I am originally from Bangalore, India and currently live in Frankfurt, Germany. I came from humble beginnings, a son of a professor and homemaker. As a child I always dream’t of playing football or owning a conglomerate/industry. Just these two paths always resonated with me. Spent my childhood playing football and table tennis with a close group of mates. Love for electronics and computers led me to pick Electronics and Communication Engineering for my Bachelors.

My first entrepreneurial stint was during my final year of engineering where me and a couple of friends tried something with 3D printing. It started well but we lacked the knowledge or the focus and doomed it. Then hustled my way to the traditional job market.

Got myself a job in Infosys as a System Engineer. This experience changed the way I led my life. Made me more focused, more aware of my life goals and put me on a path. After being one of the youngest lads in Research and Development teams, learn’t a lot from great people. Learn’t from their experience, their approach towards problem solving, their way of leading large teams and got inspired.

One fine day realised I needed to take control of the things I wanted to do, so quit my job, got myself a student loan and self funded myself with all my savings and moved to Germany for a masters course. Came here for masters but in reality started to apply for jobs or internships from the second month more or less because I was desperate to get started to do something big.

Straight away got a part time job at Amadeus R & D as a Language Engineer. I made functional programming languages for different compilers for a while, then started to apply for more internships. Got an offer from Google for an internship in Munich. But also got an offer from a start up called Covomo for a full time role as a Software Architect.

Decided to give up the Google offer for the startup job as my path was to be an entrepreneur. Worked there for over a year, scaled the team, made multiple products, grew the revenue and then tried to found my own company in parallel.

Pitched many ideas to many people, go rejected many times. It wasn’t easy to be an immigrant entrepreneur specially not knowing the German language. Then met a VC, who was open, supportive and helpful. Collaborated with the VC, met my co-founder and founded my first company at scale i.e Ophigo. Ophigo was very well funded and backed by a large group called Aareon. A leading property software company and a European market leader. Ran Ophigo for 3 years and then exited it to the same investor in August 2021, and finally had my first startup exit.

Now, started to validate few problems for my second startup Softhesis.

“Being an entrepreneur is not easy, but when you believe that your purpose is to be one, your perspective changes. Being able to provide that one job, feed that one family through something you started makes a lot of difference.”
